Some quick facts on the BC Ford Dealers Road to the Fred Page Cup BCHL Playoffs so far:

The top-two Interior seeds, the No. 1 Penticton Vees and the No. 2 Vernon Vipers, will wade into battle for the first time this postseason. Both of these clubs had a bye through Round 1 as per this season’s playoff format. Penticton will face the Merritt Centennials while Vernon faces the Trail Smoke Eaters.
The Mainland showdown features the two clubs with the regular-season’s best records: the Wenatchee Wild and the Chilliwack Chiefs. Wenatchee has home-ice advantage.
The only upset of Round 1 was also the only sweep. In the Interior, the No. 5-seed Merritt Centennials upended the No. 4 West Kelowna Warriors in four-straight games.
There were four overtime games in Round 1, including Merritt’s 5-4 triple-OT win on the road in West Kelowna on March 4.
The playoff scoring leader so far is Trail Smoke Eaters defenceman Carter Cochrane (2-10-12 in five games)

The first games of Round 2 will be on Friday, March 17.
