In order to clinch first place of the BCHL Island Division, the Grizzlies needed to earn at least one point in their last regular season game vs the Surrey Eagles. Grizzlies’ Ethan Nother scored a late 3rd period goal to tie the game 3-3 and then in double overtime Carter Berger scored the winner. With the 1st place finish, the Grizzlies will now face off against the 4th place Alberni Valley Bulldogs for their first round of playoffs in a best of 7 series.
