Jake Stevens to become a Saint

The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce that their assistant captain and 2nd year veteran defensemen Jake Stevens has accepted a Division 1 NCAA hockey scholarship with St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York for next four seasons, beginning 2017-2018.

Stevens, from Naperville, Illinois, is enjoying a productive 2nd season with the Grizzlies, as he sits second overall in the league scoring for defensemen, with 12 points and 12 games.

“Since arriving in Victoria last year, Jake has been a true professional, with a relentless work ethic in practice and in games. Jake’s preparation and commitment to this sport is exceptional,” said his coach Craig Didmon.

Jake will be available for interview today beginning at 11:00 am-12:00 pm.

This is the third NCAA Div. 1 scholarship awarded to a Victoria Grizzlies player so far this season and we expect more to come.

Grizzlies next home game is tonight at the Q Centre Arena when they begin a home and home battle vs their division rivals the Cowichan Capitals.
