Jamie Rome has committed to the Western Michigan Broncos

The  Victoria Grizzlies are pleased to announce that Jamie Rome has made a commitment to play his NCAA Division 1 hockey for the Western Michigan Broncos. The 18 year old is undecided which year he will make the jump to the next level. This marks the 7th scholarship awarded to a Grizzlies player this season.

Rome has had an impressive rookie campaign tallying 28 goals and 27 assists. Rome is known for his exciting outside speed and ability to find the quiet zones where he can utilize his pro level release of the puck. This Grizzlies player prides himself as being one of the best 200 foot players in the league.  Jamie also participated in the CJHL prospects game in January 2017, as he is eligible for the 2017 NHL draft

“Rome has come a long way since playing midget hockey last year. He has proven he can adjust his game to the next level and score regularly in the BCHL.” said Head Coach and GM Craig Didmon.  “He is a big forward with strength and intelligence, and reminds me of players that I’ve coached who currently play at a pro level. This scholarship is well deserved.”

As much as the Victoria Grizzlies program is excited to move players onto the NCAA and beyond, the Grizzlies would have no problem accepting the offensive threat back for the 2017-2018 campaign.
