January is Wounded Warrior Month

The Victoria Grizzlies to unveil their third jersey in honour of Wounded Warrior Canada

Victoria, BC The Victoria Grizzlies team and Allan Kobayashi, co-founder of Wounded Warrior Run BC, will be at the Colwood McDonalds, 1742 Island Hwy, this Tuesday, Jan.10th at 5:30pm to kick off Wounded Warrior month and to unveil the Grizzlies third jersey in honour of Wounded Warrior Canada. The Grizzlies players will also be signing autographs for kids and will be giving away free tickets for this Thursday’s game 7:00pm at the Q Centre Arena vs the Nanaimo Clippers.

The Victoria Grizzlies have partnered with Wounded Warrior Canada to help raise awareness and funds for families who are affected by PTSD. The third jerseys will be worn by the Victoria Grizzlies at all of their games for the month of January until they are auctioned off at  the Grizzlies home game vs West Kelowna on Jan.27, 2017.

Fans can bid on the game worn jerseys at all Grizzlies home games at the Q Centre Arena for the month of January until the auction closes at the puck drop of the third period on January 27th. Fifty percent of the proceeds raised from the jersey auction will be donated to Wounded Warrior Canada. As well fans can purchase tickets for the game on January 27th from any of the Westshore McDonalds locations. Fifty percent of the ticket price of all tickets sold at McDonalds will also be donated to Wounded Warrior.  

The third jerseys will get a lot of use this week  as the Grizzlies are set to host three games at the Q Centre Arena: Jan. 12 vs Nanaimo Clippers, and then back to back games vs the Powell River Kings on Jan. 14 and Jan.15 (matinee game).
