GRIZZLIES EXCITED TO KEEP GEBERT ON ROSTER

July 04, 2009 Victoria Grizzlies -

The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce they have signed defenseman Todd Gebert. Todd had a difficult season with us last year fighting injuries and also being put in and out of the line-up. Todd who was an AP last year (Alternate Player), meaning he was like a unrestricted free agent in the NHL. Todd had interests from 4 teams in the BCHL alone wanting him.

Head Coach Victor Gervais commented one of my first tasks was to get Todd on our team. Not only is he one of the finest young men you would meet, he is a huge physical presence on the ice. I am excited about the opportunity for Todd to flourish under defensive specialist and new assistant Grizzlies coach Wade Bartley.

Todd is the type of player every team wants, at 6’3” 220 lbs and a player that gives 120% every shift, Todd will continue to be a fan favourite. Todd also worked hard in the community volunteering as well as taking time as a role model to attend minor hockey practices when asked.
