Nico Somerville is currently in his first season with the Victoria Grizzlies, he is one of four under-aged players on the team attending grad 12 at Belmont Secondary. Somerville, who hails from Port Alberni, is also a cousin of former Grizzlies stars Myles, Gerry, and Leo Fitzgerald.
Somerville is no stranger to Victoria, as he formerly played for the Victoria Cougars of the V.I.J.H.L and played his Bantam hockey for the Victoria Racquet Club Minor Hockey Association where he first caught the eyes of Grizzlies scouting staff.
