Colwood, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies and Cowichan Valley Capitals meet for a second time this season tonight at 6:00 pm at the Q Centre in Colwood.
Victoria fell last night at the hands of the Nanaimo Clippers 3-0, in a contest where they couldn’t seem to get on the same wavelength. If there is any consolation, it’s the fact that the Grizzlies refused to go down without a fight, battling till the final buzzer and becoming public enemy number one in Nanaimo thanks to their physical play.
The Grizzlies are now 8-6-0 on the season and third in the Coastal West Division while Cowichan sits atop the division at 9-4-1 through 14 games this season. Victoria won the previous meeting between the two teams this year 4-1 on October 10th.
Tonight will mark the debut of several new Capitals (who were inactive last night) including; Gavin Rocha, Brendan Van Oene, and Hunter Heisten who joined the squad following a blockbuster deal with the Surrey Eagles this week. That deal saw high scoring forwards Owen Fitzgerald and Kole Keen head back to the Eagles as compensation. The Capitals also announced the signing of Casper Lang this week who split time between Minnesota High School hockey and the NAHL last season.
Puck drop goes at 6:00 p.m. tonight at the Q Centre in the Westshore with tickets available to be purchased BY CLICKING HERE.
