Alex Hebblethwaite Released from Hospital

After a scary incident on Saturday night in Port Alberni, Grizzlies forward Alex Hebblethwaite has been released from hospital and has returned to Victoria.

Early in the 3rd period, Hebblethwaite crashed into the end boards on a breakaway attempt and was motionless on the ice.

Paramedics in Port Alberni took him to Nanaimo General Hospital immediately after the incident and Alex remained there before being released on Monday afternoon.  While his return to hockey will be a slow one, Alex avoided a major injury.

The Grizzlies organization is grateful for the help Alex received both on the ice in Port Alberni, and by the hospital staff in Nanaimo.

We wish Alex a speedy recovery, and look forward to him resuming on-ice activities as soon as he’s able.
