Chiefs Back In Town Seeking Revenge

Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies host the Chilliwack Chiefs tonight at 6:00 p.m. on another Salsa Saturday at the Q Centre in Colwood.

Last Saturday, the “Salsa” beat the Chiefs 6-3 right here in Victoria, meaning that the visitors should have some extra motivation. Add on the fact that they have now dropped three of four, and there should be plenty to play for. The Chiefs fell last night 5-4 in overtime at the Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo.

The Grizzlies (20-20-2) saw two important points slip out of their hands yesterday in Port Alberni. The Bulldogs scored three unanswered to erase a 3-2 Grizzly lead heading into the third, stealing victory in the process. That was a chance for Victoria to leap over the Bulldogs for third in the division, but it was squandered, and they will be somewhat peeved heading into this evening.

A bright spot for the somewhat lethargic-looking Grizz last night was Maddux Martin scoring his 10th and 11th goals of the season. The Salmon Arm native has eight goals in his ten games with Victoria. The team is 5-4-1 since his acquisition from Salmon Arm.

A Powell River loss tonight would signal Victoria punching their ticket to the 2026 Rogers BCHL Playoffs, and Alberni Valley is not in action, making for a chance to recoup those lost two points.

Puck drop is at 6:00 p.m. with seats still available RIGHT HERE.
