Victoria, BC ~ The Chilliwack Chiefs held on through a dicey final minute to defeat the Victoria Grizzlies 1-0 on Wednesday night in front of 1,276 fans at the Q Centre in Colwood.

In the first period, the game was a tight checking, physical game that saw both team unable to solve the opposing netminder. Quentin Miller made 12 saves in the opening frame for Chilliwack while Kyle Kelsey turned aside 11 Chiefs efforts. The game was tied at zero following the opening 20 minutes.

The game took 35 minutes to find a goal and it was the series leading Chiefs jumping ahead in the second. At the 15:00 mark, Brady Milburn (8) cleaned up a rebound in front after right point shot from Ty Campbell to put the visitors ahead. They held that lead heading into the third up 1-0.

Victoria would press in the final frame and outshot the Chiefs 8-4 while hemming them in their own zone for extended periods however they just could not seem to buy a tally and the Chiefs would get through a torrid Grizzlies push in the dying minute to hold on for a 1-0 victory.

With the win, the Chiefs have pushed the Grizzlies to the brink with a 3-1 series lead. Victoria will play for their season on Friday night in Chilliwack with puck drop in game five at 7:00 p.m.
