Former Victoria Grizzlies forward Vidar Blixt has signed his first professional contract with Mariestad BoIS of Hockeyettan in Sweden.
Blixt quickly became a fan favourite during his time in Victoria, earning the Grizzlies’ Tony Burrows Community Award for his outstanding involvement and impact within the community.
On the ice, the Swedish forward recorded 6 goals and 12 assists in 48 games during the 2025–26 season.
“Vidar represented our organization extremely well both on and off the ice,” said Grizzlies head coach and general manager Geoff Grimwood. “He embraced our community, became a very popular player with our fans, and worked hard every day. We’re proud to see him earn this opportunity to begin his professional career.”
Hockeyettan is the third-highest level of professional hockey in Sweden and has become an important development league for players continuing their careers in Europe.
The Victoria Grizzlies congratulate Vidar on this accomplishment and wish him continued success in his professional career.
