Game Day Preview: Grizzlies at Capitals February 8, 2025

Duncan, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies make the short trip up Island tonight looking to regain control of second place in the Coastal Conference with a win.

Victoria fell last night to the Nanaimo Clippers 5-0 in a game where the hockey gods just seemed to have other ideas. Whenever Victoria seemed to be building momentum, a pass would be just a fraction off of the puck would hit a lip in the ice to jump over a stick making for an unlucky bounce festival. The Grizzlies certainly couldn’t be questioned for their effort.

Oliver Auyeung-Ashton will get the call for the Grizzlies this evening and he is playing very good hockey as of late. Most recently he made 26 saves on 27 shots against Prince George giving him an 11-2-2 record this season.

The Grizzlies will hope to reincarnate a 6-2 victory in Cowichan Valley just under a month ago. That was the last time these two teams off and Tom Molson was a main contributor that evening with five assists.

Puck drop goes at 7:00 PM and as always the game is available online on flohockey or free to listen on the Grizzlies Radio Network on mixLR.
