Chilliwack, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies are back in action tonight at 7:00 p.m. from the Chilliwack Coliseum with their season on the line down three games to one in this Coastal Conference Final against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
“The fourth one is the hardest one to win” is a saying that the Grizzlies hope will prove to be true going forward as they will play with their backs against the wall tonight for the first time in the post season. Tonight should be a good test of character for the squad to see what type of push back and tenacity they come out with in an attempt to save their season.
The biggest thing for the visitors tonight, will be their ability to find a way to score against a strong defensive team in the Chiefs with an even better netminder. Quentin Miller is yet to give up more than two goals in a game during this season and is coming off his second shutout of the playoffs on Wednesday night in Victoria during the Chiefs 1-0 game four win.
With all the pressure now being on the Chiefs, trying to close things out, the hope would certainly be that the Victoria squad loosens their grips on their sticks and feel a bit more relaxed in the jaws of defeat. They had chances in the game on Wednesday, including a last ditch effort just narrowly missing as well as three hit posts. Staying true to their team identity of hard work and playing for each other would certainly be a good way to begin.
On the other end of the bracket, the Penticton Vees are in the same position as the Grizzlies, playing game five tonight against the Brooks Bandits trying to salvage their season, down 3-1 in that Interior Conference Final.
