Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies will attempt to shake off a 4-2 loss last night and even this Coastal Conference Final with the Chilliwack Chiefs tonight at 7:00 p.m. from the Q Centre in Colwood.
Victoria will have to play from behind in the playoffs for the first time this season as the Chiefs have taken two in a row (including last night) to have the current advantage.
They got yet another big performance from Quentin Miller in goal yesterday evening as the Montreal draft pick made 28 saves on 30 shots. That performance netted him second star of the game and saw his numbers improve to a whopping 2.02 GAA and .945 SV% in this Conference Final. Victoria will need to find a way to solve him if they are to find success moving forward.
Good news for them is that they get to enjoy home cookin’ again tonight at their home barn where they have posted a 5-2 record so far in the playoffs. They started well last night, netting a powerplay goal in the first three minutes, however it was some uphill work from there. They can expect much of the same today with a Conference Final certainly not being a walk in the park.
Chase Pirtle extended his personal point streak to 11 games for Victoria last night (12 points in that span) while the Grizzlies also got a two point performance from Mercyhurst committed Will Schumacher (goal/assist).
Puck drop goes at 7:00 p.m. with Victoria hoping to pull even at 2-2 heading back to the Coliseum in Chilliwack on Friday night. Tickets are available by CLICKING HERE.
