Victoria, BC ~ Blowing a lead has not been in the DNA of the Grizzlies over the past three years let alone doing it on three separate occasions in one game. They did just that exactly one week ago in Nanaimo, and you can be sure that tonight they will have a bit of an extra pep in their step seeking revenge at 7:00 PM from the Q Centre.
The Grizzlies roll into this evening’s contest having picked up points in eight straight games while holding a 6-0-2 record in that span. Maybe the most impressive part of that eight game run is the fact that they are scoring at a ridiculously high rate of five goals per game. They have not lost in regulation since December 27, 2024.
Tonight they are back at the Q Centre where they have not lost in regulation since December 10th. With Saturday’s 6-1 win over Prince George at home they are now the sixth best team in the BCHL at home with a 11-4-4 record. Throughout the year they have been filling up the net at home as well to help out that record as they are averaging just over four goals per game at the Q Centre.
We would be remiss to not mention what the fan support has done for the Grizzlies during their recent home success. They are averaging a crowd of just under 1,200 over their past four home games.
Tonight Victoria takes on the Nanaimo Clippers who they are looking for some revenge against. They hold an impressive 3-0-1 record against the team from the Harbour City however they fell in overtime seven days ago to them. The Grizzlies lead; 1-0, 2-1 and 4-2 during that game meaning that they feel as though they owe the Clippers one after shooting themselves in the foot in that match.
Several of the Grizzlies have hot streaks going including; Reegan Hiscock (eight goals and 12 points in his last seven games), Landon Mackie (seven goals and 12 points in his last 10 games), Sam Ward (10 points in his last six games) and Seamus Latta (four goals and nine points in seven games).
Victoria will also be without 20 year old forward; Julian Cull. Julian is serving a one game suspension for a boarding penalty on February 1st which was elevated to a major penalty upon review after the game. Prince George defenseman Isaac Holt was suspended three games for his cross check on Cull after that board.
Tonight’s puck drop goes at 7:00 PM from the Q Centre with Victoria looking to continue their hot play as of late. Tickets are available by CLICKING HERE.
