Powell River, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies are ready for a quick turnaround and looking for a two game weekend sweep against the Powell River Kings at 5:00 PM PT tonight from the Hap Parker Arena.
Victoria held on last night for a 6-5 victory that saw them hold off a late barrage from the Kings after leading 6-2 early in the third period.
Victoria had six different scorers last night and the depth of the team was apart with; Chase Pirtle, Tobias Pitka, Ryan Watt, Drew Hockley, Reegan Hiscock and Julian Cull all netting tallies for the Grizzlies. Interestingly enough as well, all six of those players are returnees for this Grizzlies squad.
Also encouraging for the Grizzlies was the fact that they went two for three on the powerplay, giving them a hot start on special teams as they killed off the only penalty they took as well.
Victoria has not swept a two game weekend series in Powell River since March 4th and 5th of 2022.
