  • The Grizzlies (21-10-6) (3rd in the Coastal Conference) and the Capitals (21-14-3) (5th in the Coastal Conference) meet for the fifth time this season
  • The season series is tied at two a piece with Victoria winning twice in regulation and Cowichan winning once in regulation and once in overtime
  • Victoria took the first meeting 4-0 on September 28th in Victoria before dropping the next one 4-0 in Cowichan on November 30th. Two weeks later the Caps would come into the Q Centre and pick up a 4-3 overtime win on December 13th before the Grizzlies hammered them 6-2 in Cowichan on January 10th.

Last Meeting – January 10, 2025: Vic 6 at Cvc 2 

Victoria took on the Capitals in front of a sold out crowd in Cowichan looking for some revenge as the Caps had won both of the previous two meetings. Victoria certainly got that while also getting two goals in the first 14 minutes from Reegan Hiscock and the game was a 2-1 one score Victoria heading to the first intermission. The Grizzlies scored three unanswered in the second from; Seamus Latta, Chase Pirtle and Finn Kallay. In the third period Tobias Pitka scored on the power play for Victoria and Noah MacDonald scored a consolation goal for the Caps with 2:14 to play.

Victoria fell at the hands of the Nanaimo Clippers in a game where they could not seem to get going and just weren’t quite on the same wavelength. There was no scoring through the first period however Nanaimo scored in the first minute of the second, before rattling off two more before the halfway point. It was 3-0 Clippers heading into the third period and they added another for good measure eight minutes into the final frame and another on an empty net with three minutes to play.
