Last Meeting – December 28, 2024: Vic 3 at Lan 2

After falling 8-4 in Chilliwack the night before, Victoria looked to bounce back in their second match back from the Christmas holidays. Langley got on the board first at 8:24 of the first thanks to Jackson Krill on the powerplay (5th). The Grizz would tie the game just over two minutes later on Julian Cull’s fourth of the season. It was a feisty affair that saw Julian Cull throw a humongous hit on Luke Phfoh that knocked him out of the game and drew the ire of the Langley players. Jacksenn Hungle gave the Grizzlies the lead with less than five minutes to play on the second on the powerplay (8th). Ethan Merner tied it for Langley with a man advantage goal at 7:30 of the third before a late winner from Landon Mackie sent the Grizzlies home with a win at 18:22 (9th). The Riv outshot Victoria 37-33. Victoria went 1/5 on the PP while Langley went 2/7. Kyle Kelsey made 35 saves to be named second star. Landon Mackie was the first star. It was a very feisty affair.
