Last Meeting – December 14, 2024: Vic 7 at Nan 2
Victoria had lost the night before and wanted positivity heading into the Christmas break. They would find it in the form of a five goal win over the Clippers in hostel territory. Nanaimo took the lead on a Dylan Kinch marker on the powerplay at 10:15 of the first. The Grizzlies would rattle off five unanswered after that; Julian Cull at 13:52 of the first, Alex Hebblethwaite at 19:24 of the first, Landon Mackie and 11:05 and 14:13 of the second and Seamus Latta at 1:49 on the third. Connor DeTurris got Nanaimo within three at 4:59 of the third but tallies from Reegan Hiscock at 13:59 and Garrett Frazer 19:59 sealed the deal. Kyle Kelsey got the win with a 35 save performance. Landon Mackie had three points (2-1-3) and was named first star. Victoria went 0/5 on the powerplay and Nanaimo went 1/4.

Last Game Played – January 25/25: Vic 2 vs LAN 3 (OT)
Victoria’s late game tying goal with 49 seconds remaining from Tobias Pitka was heroic but they could not hold off the Rivermen who were vastly outplayed yet picked up an overtime victory at the Q Centre for the second time this year. Tobias Pitka scored both of the Grizzlies goals for his 10th and 11th of the year and Oliver Auyeung-Ashton made 26 saves for Victoria. That overtime loss snapped their five game winning streak however the Grizzlies still picked up a point for the sixth straight game. Just one point meant Surrey took a two point lead on them in the conference however Victoria has three games in hand.
