Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria Grizzlies Hockey Club is pleased to announce the promotion of Garry Nunn to Associate Head Coach for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
Nunn joined the Grizzlies coaching staff prior to the 2025-26 season following a successful professional playing career. In his first season behind the bench, he quickly established himself as a trusted mentor and teacher, earning the respect of players and staff alike through his commitment to player development and communication.
In his expanded role, Nunn will work alongside Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood and will be fully dedicated to the Grizzlies’ day-to-day hockey operations and player development initiatives.
“We are excited to promote Garry to Associate Head Coach,” said Grizzlies President David Michaud. “In a short period of time, Garry has demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with our players and help them improve. His communication skills, hockey knowledge, and commitment to development make him a tremendous asset to our organization. Having Garry fully focused on the Grizzlies will be a major benefit to our players and hockey operations staff.”
Nunn’s extensive playing career included time in the BCHL, WHL, ECHL, AHL, and professional leagues in Europe before transitioning into coaching.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my coaching journey with the Victoria Grizzlies,” said Nunn. “We have a great group of players, staff, and supporters, and I am excited to take on a larger role within the organization. I look forward to working alongside Geoff and helping our players achieve their goals both on and off the ice.”
The Victoria Grizzlies are confident Nunn’s leadership and development-focused approach will play an important role in the continued growth and success of the hockey club.
