Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced this afternoon that they have signed 18-year-old defenseman Jackson Gillespie from the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL.
Gillespie has 134 games of WHL experience, beginning his career in Kelowna as a 16-year-old, and is a proven, steady, and physical back-end presence that can be leaned on for big minutes.
Gillespie hails from Keller, Texas, USA, and came up through the Dallas Stars Elite program in the Lone Star State.
Victoria is very excited to see Jackson join the squad effective immediately and would like to welcome him and his family to “Bear Country”!
In another roster move, goaltender Casimir Weckstrom has gone back to the NAHL, effective immediately.
