GRIZZLIES ADD MORE SIZE AND SKILL ON DEFENCE

  The Victoria Grizzlies Junior A Hockey team are pleased to announce the commitment of Right Defenseman Nic Charif for the 2013 – 14 season. 

Charif measures in at 6’ 1” and 190 pounds and was recently named to the AMHL Second All Star Team.  Charif played for the South Side Athletic Club AAA Midget Provincial Finalists.

Charif will join the Grizzlies as one of the most sought after Defenseman in Western Canada and will wear # 24 for the Griz next season.

Coach Bestwick on Charif, “Nic is an extremely gifted player.   He is a top notch Defenseman on both sides of the puck who will generate offense and is very strong in his defensive zone.”

With the recent commitments of Jake Kearley measuring in at 6 ‘ 3” and 225 pounds and Rory McGuire at 6’ 1” and 195 lbs the Grizzlies are rounding out their defensive corp with size, skill and  outstanding character.

Bestwick added, “Our goal is to win a BCHL Championship here in Victoria and Nic brings us a critical piece of the puzzle.”
