Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced Wednesday morning that they have signed 2006 born Forward; Nathan Taylor for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Taylor, from Langley, BC, spent last season with the Merritt Centennials where he appeared in 43 games. His successful rookie campaign included 7 goals and 11 points.
“I can’t wait to get started with the guys,” said Taylor on Wednesday, “With a year under my belt, I understand on a day to day basis what it takes to win in this league.” When asked about relocating to Victoria he said, “I can’t wait. I have visited the city a couple of times and I look forward to calling it home for the next couple of years.”
Taylor, who stands at 6’3, came up through the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds BCEHL system, playing for the U15, U17 and U18 teams respectively and even appeared in one game with the Surrey Eagles as a 16 year old “AP”.
When asked about the signing, Grizzlies Associate Coach & Director if Player Personnel, Geoff Grimwood said, “We are really excited to add an experienced BCHL player like Nathan. He is a 200 foot physical winger that plays our kind of game. We expect him to bring character and leadership to our dressing room and we couldn’t be more excited to adding Nathan to our lineup…..We expect him to take another big step forward in his second season.”
Victoria continues to add to an already gigantic forward group with this most recent signing and was echoed earlier in the week with a trade with the Chilliwack Chiefs that saw 6 foot 3 inch forward Stone Rolston join the Grizzlies ranks.
