Colwood, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies have bolstered their lineup with three exciting new 20-year old additions ahead of the 2025-26 BCHL season: forward Tayjon Street (Toronto, ON), defenseman Matthew Jenken (Ilderton, ON), and forward Artur Gross (Kokshetau, Kazakhstan).
Street brings grit. Jenken brings defensive stability. Gross brings skill. Together, they add a potent mix of toughness, talent, and energy to the Grizzlies roster as the team sets its sights on a big year in the BCHL.
Tayjon Street (6’1”, 205 lbs) is a proven power forward with a fearless style of play. A fan-favourite in the making, Street is known for his physical presence, relentless forecheck, and ability to shift the game’s momentum in an instant. Street spent last season with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves.
Matthew Jenken (6’4”, 200 lbs) is a dependable two-way defenseman with the size, mobility, and hockey IQ to log big minutes in all situations. His calm under pressure and smart puck decisions make him a key piece on the back end. Jenken has 135 games of OHL experience with the Peterborough Petes & Flint Firebirds.
Artur Gross (6’0”, 170 lbs) arrives from Kazakhstan with an international pedigree and a dynamic offensive toolkit. His quick hands, elite vision, and scoring touch will give the Grizzlies another dangerous weapon up front. Gross had 4 points in 5 games for Kazakhstan at the World Junior Tournament in Ottawa, and posted 22 points in 37 games in Russia’s top junior circuit, the MHL. Gross also suited up in 7 professional games with the KHL’s Barys Astana.
Director of Player Personnel Bo Lewis believes the trio fits perfectly into the team’s vision for the season.”It’s not everyday you get to add size, grit and skill to your teams so we could not be more excited,” said Lewis.
Training camp opens September 2nd at the Q Centre, and all three are expected to make an immediate impact when the puck drops this fall.
