Grizzlies Announce Signing of Owen Warnick

Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Tuesday morning that they have signed Winnipeg native; Owen Warnick for the upcoming 2025-26 BCHL campaign.

Owen, who will turn 19 in early October, joins Victoria after an impressive season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League with the Selkirk Steelers where he finished tied for 8th in the league with 62 points in just 57 games. Those numbers were impressive for two reasons. One, Owen did it at the ripe age of 18 years old and (two), he jumped from six goals and nine points the season before as a rookie.

Warnick’s stellar season earned him a NCAA commitment to the University of Northern Michigan in mid October last year.  When Warnick’s time with the Grizzlies comes to an end, he’ll join former Grizzlies Tobias Pitka and goaltender Oliver Auyeung-Ashton who committed to Northern Michigan this off-season.

“I’m extremely excited to join and make an impact on this team,” said Owen when asked about his excitement level to join the Grizzlies.

Welcome to Victoria Owen!
