Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies fell 5-4 in the shoot out to the Nanaimo Clippers on Saturday night at the Q Centre.
Victoria started off the game on the right foot with Chase Pirtle opening the scoring with less than two minutes gone in the game. Nanaimo would answer back with four of their own before the 12 minute mark of the first putting Victoria down 4-1 after 20.
Reegan Hiscock found the back of the net in the second on a nice shot from the high slot to put Victoria within two after two.
Drew Hockley would pick the top corner early in the third before Hiscock’s second of the game would tie things up a minute later.
The game would head to overtime and Victoria vastly outplayed the Clippers in the extra frame but weren’t able to score on the four-on-three powerplay they had.
Lake Lavery scored the lone goal of the shoot out for the Clippers in the third round to give the Clippers the win.
Victoria is back in action tomorrow after at 1:00 pm from the Q Centre.
