The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce that forward Landon Mackie has been named Captain for the upcoming 2025-26 BC Hockey League season.
Mackie is a 19-year-old forward entering his 3rd season with his hometown Grizzlies.
Mackie has earned the “C” through his leadership both on and off the ice. Known for his relentless work ethic, competitive edge, and team-first mentality, Mackie has been a driving force for the Grizzlies and has become a respected voice in the locker room. Mackie had a breakout season for the Grizzlies last year with 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points. Mackie also registered 9 points in the Grizzlies playoff run to the Conference finals.
“Landon represents everything we want the Victoria Grizzlies to stand for,” said Head Coach & General Manager Geoff Grimwood. “He leads by example every day, whether it’s in practice, games, or in the community. He’s the type of player that his teammates naturally rally around, and we’re thrilled to have him lead our group this season.”
The Grizzlies are coming off an offseason of exciting roster additions, and with Mackie leading the way, expectations are high for the 2025-26 campaign.
“It’s an incredible honour to be named Captain of the Grizzlies,” said Mackie. “This team means a lot to me, and I’m proud to represent my teammates, coaches, and the City of Victoria. We’re building something special here, and I can’t wait to get started.”
The Grizzlies will open their season at The Q Centre on October 3rd against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Tickets are available now at the box office or online at www.victoriagrizzlies.com
