The Victoria Grizzlies battled their way to a dramatic 4-3 overtime win against the Surrey Eagles at South Surrey Arena on Friday night.

After a nail-biting back-and-forth game, the Grizzlies found themselves in another overtime game but it was Chase Pirtle who delivered the game-winning goal, sealing the victory for Victoria. That goal came moments after Oliver Auyeung Ashton made a jaw-dropping glove save to keep his team alive and preserving the tie and setting up the overtime heroics.

Jacksenn Hungle opened the scoring with a slick breakaway goal in the second period, while Seamus Latta added one in the third for his first of the year.

Auyeung Ashton was stellar between the pipes, stopping 40 shots to improve his record to a perfect 6-0-0 on the season. The Grizzlies head to Coquitlam tomorrow having won three in a row and carrying a 6-1-1 record in their last 8.
