The Victoria Grizzlies have promoted Suneil Karod to associate head coach and assistant general manager.
Karod, a native of Nanamio BC, is entering his 5th season with the Grizzlies.
“Suneil deserves this recognition for the work he puts in on and off the ice with our players,” said Grizzlies President David Michaud. “Alongside Geoff Grimwood, Suneil’s work was crucial for our team last year down the stretch, and in the playoffs. I’m excited about the staff we’re putting together, and I know they will do a great job in aiding our players development.”
Karod has spent substantial time in junior hockey both in Victoria and across Western Canada. Suneil was an integral part of the Victoria Cougars run with 5 championships in 8 seasons with the organization.
Along with the promotion of Suneil Karod, the club is expected to make additional coaching hires in the coming weeks as the Grizzlies round out their staff ahead of the 2025-2026 season.
