Grizzlies Sign High End Russian Forward Meshcheryakov

Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Thursday afternoon that they have signed 2005 born, Russian forward, Nikita Meshcheryakov for the upcoming 2025-26 BCHL campaign.

 

Nikita, who spent the last two years in the NAHL with the New Jersey Jr. Titans, is committed to play at Princeton University in the NCAA further continuing the Grizzlies relationship the prestigious Ivy League school.

 

Meshcheryakov, joins Bear Country with an impressive resume that includes; being a regular in the USHL as a 16 year old and tying for 5th in the US High School Prep league in scoring during the 2022-23 season with Northwood School. He amassed 36 goals an 82 points in just 65 games there.

 

“We are really excited to have Nikita join the Grizzlies,” said Head Coach and GM Geoff Grimwood, “He is a gifted offensive player with really good size and strength.”

 

Nikita hails from Moskva, Russia and stands at six foot three, 195 pounds as a natural centreman. Head Coach Geoff Grimwood is tasked with rebuilding down the middle with the Grizzlies losing; Tobias Pitka, Seamus Latta and Malcolm Green at the center position this off season meaning that Meshcheryakov looks to be a key part of that rebuilding.
