Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Friday morning that they have signed 2006-born forward Landen Ward for the upcoming 2025-26 BCHL season.
Landen, a product of Lloydminster, Alberta, will begin his third season of junior hockey in September. His past two were spent in the WHL in Moose Jaw and Lethbridge, where he compiled four goals, 11 points, and 213 penalty minutes in 117 games. Those 213 PIM certainly tell a story that reads that the six-foot-three, 220-pound forward is not someone to be trifled with. Ward is known for his physical play and his willingness to let his fists do the talking, with 14 fights in his two WHL seasons.
Landen is an impressive physical specimen, but his on-ice abilities are not something that should be forgotten due to his size, strength, and physicality. He was named Lethbridge’s rookie of the year in 2023-24 with three goals and eight points in 63 games. Perhaps more impressively was his final ranking in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft Central Scouting numbers, which had him at #224 going into the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Although he was selected, he was invited to and attended Ottawa Senators Development Camp.
Welcome to Bear Country Landen!
