GRIZZLIES SIGN SCHWARTZ AND WAHLRAB

PRESS RELEASE
Immediate release.
August 17, 2013

Victoria B.C.   On the eve of training camp commencing for the 2013-14 Victoria Grizzlies return to the ice, GM and Head Coach Bill Bestwick welcomed two prized recruits.

Forward Jesse Schwartz committed to the Grizz following an intense recruiting summer and the timing is welcome news to the Coaching staff. Schwartz played last season for Kent Prep School and was a top end performer catching the eye of Coach Bestwick.

"Jesse is a nice package with a lot of upside. He is an intelligent player, good skater, poised with the puck and can generate offense.”

With the loss of centres Mazurek and Powell in the off season, securing a player with the ability to step in and play valuable minutes was a priority for the Coaching staff.

Another key off season recruit comes in the form of Storm Wahlrab.   Wahlrab finished last season split between Pennsylvania and California with the LA Midget Kings.

Storm is a physical presence and in my opinion has the potential to be a major contributor to the Grizzlies with his skill and finesse combined with a hardnosed attitude.

Storm has great hands and is very versatile as a player on both sides of the puck. We will need his physicality and net presence. This will be a steep learning curve but one he is capable of making.

Look for both players to make an impact immediately.
