Victoria, BC ~ Jacksenn Hungle fresh off an overtime winner on Wednesday night did the same Friday night in Prince George to lift the Grizzlies to victory.
Victoria (who is outscoring opponents 23-11 in the 1st) added to that on Friday night by jumping out to a 1-0 lead after twenty minutes on Chase Pirtleโs seventh of the year.
Prince George would tie the game early in the second before Pirtleโs second of the game and eighth of the year put Victoria back up by one after forty minutes of play.
Prince George scored twice in the first seven minutes to give themselves their first lead, however Tobias Pitka was quick to squash that with his fourth of the year halfway through the frame.
For a third straight game, the Grizzlies needed overtime and for a second game night in a row it was Jacksenn Hungle playing hero. Oliver Auyeung-Ashton made a stop on Kasumo Sasaki who got in on a breakaway, and than Drew Hockley sent the puck down the length of the ice to spring Hungle. The Grizzly captain went backhand to forehand and fired the puck top left to seal the deal.
The Grizzlies improve to 8-4-2 on the season and will look to make it a perfect three for three on this road trip tomorrow night at 6:00 PM again against Prince George.
Big Performances:
Chase Pirtle found the back of the net twice for his seventh and eighth of the year. The Grizzlies sophomore now has seven goals to go along with 12 points in his last eight games.
Drew Hockley had another two assists from the Grizzlies blue line to give him 12 helpers and 20 points on the year. Hockley becomes the fastest Grizzlies D-man to 20 points in franchise history.
