The Victoria Grizzlies are proud to announce that graduating forward Matthew Jenken has committed to Guelph Gryphons men’s ice hockey for the 2026–27 season.
Jenken appeared in 46 games for the Grizzlies this season, recording 8 goals and 22 assists. He was also named the Grizzlies defenceman of the year.
“We’re thrilled to see Matthew continue his playing career with Guelph. Matthew was a tremendous member of our team and was a key player on our back end all season long,” said Grizzlies head coach and general manager Geoff Grimwood.
The Gryphons compete in U Sports, the highest level of university hockey in Canada, offering student-athletes the opportunity to continue their development in a competitive environment while pursuing their education.
Jenken’s commitment reflects his consistency and progression throughout the season, earning the opportunity to advance to the next level.
