Langley Answer in the Third To Beat The Grizzlies

Victoria, BC ~ The Langley Rivermen scored six unanswered in the third period to jump over the Grizzlies and defeat them 7-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Q Centre in Colwood in front of 2,225 fans for the Grizzlies’ Annual Teddy Bear Toss Game.

Langley went ahead in the first period on a goal from Parker Forlin (5th) at 14:39 to give the visitors an early lead. Thankfully for the Grizzlies, they got a goal from Owen Warnick (6th) with 1:31 to go in the first to send the Q Centre into a frenzy of fur flying down. Certainly a goal to remember for the Winnipeg product.

Victoria then led 3-1 after forty minutes, with goals from Carter Hynes (2nd) and Landon Cowper (1st) having the Grizzly faithful feeling set heading into the third.

Unfortunately, from there it would be all Langley, scoring six straight in the third to hand Victoria a shocking 7-3 loss. They got goals from Aaron Reierson (22nd), Parker Forlin (6th), Ben Davis (4th & 5th), Paul Wiczek (1st) and Zachary Benayon (16th).

It was a tough ending for the home side, but thankfully, it was still a night to remember as they welcomed their largest crowd in years into the Q Centre. 2,225 noisy fans made the atmosphere one that was certainly special to plan in for the boys in Black Gold and White. The Grizzlies fans did a splendid job of filling the rink for a special cause and fun afternoon.

Victoria sets their sights on the Prince George Spruce Kings, visiting them on Friday and Saturday this coming week.
