Victoria, BC ~ The BCHL announced on Tuesday afternoon that both Grizzlies forwards Landon Mackie and Max Silver have been named BCHL All-Stars.
The BCHL All-Star game will not only have a new look this year, but it will also include three forwards from the Capital Region’s Grizzlies. Samuel Rousseau was already named a BCHL Team Canada Alternate Captain several weeks ago, but this morning, it was announced that Landon Mackie will be joining him on BCHL Team Canada, while their teammate Max Silver will be their counterpart on BCHL Team USA in mid-January.
The BCHL has decided to go away from the Coastal vs Interior Conference 3-on-3 at the All-Star Game this season; instead, it will include a full BCHL regulation game of the BCHL’s top Canadian players vs their top World Players (Americans, Europeans and Asian-born).
The Grizzlies’ local product and Captain, Landon Mackie, is a much-deserving All-Star selection, recording eight goals and 25 points in his first 25 games of the BCHL campaign. In his fourth year with the Grizzlies, the recent Stonehill College commit has cemented himself as a franchise staple and cornerstone. His year-by-year jump in production has been cause for applause.
Max Silver will go against both Mackie and Rousseau on Team USA as he was born and raised in the San Diego, California area. Silver leads the Grizzlies (Tied for 5th in the BCHL) with 15 goals this year and has added nine assists as well. Silver recorded two goals and five points in 37 games split between Cranbrook and Victoria as a 17-year-old rookie, and his sophomore jump has been a feel-good story so far in 2025-26.
The All-Star weekend will also include a new version of Top Prospect Game, which will instead be a “College Prospects Game” for any-aged top players in the league who aren’t currently committed to an NCAA-Division One School. The weekend will take place on January 17th and 18th at the newly built Thompson Family Arena in Spruce Grove. Additional information about the event, including tickets and schedule, will be announced at a later date.
