VICTORIA GRIZZLIES SIGN LOCAL FORWARD

Heading into Training Camp the Victoria Grizzlies are pleased to announce the signing of 1995 Centre Dante Hahn.  Hahn has spent the past two seasons playing for Shattuck St Mary’s in the hockey crazed state of Minnesota.  Hahn played his youth hockey in Victoria and following two outstanding development seasons honing his skills is ready to compete at the Junior A level for his hometown Grizzlies.

Hahn is described as an exceptionally skilled player with a hockey intelligence beyond his years by Coach Bestwick.  “Dante is a very impressive young man and fits our criteria  of character, skill, determination and potential as we  build our team for the present and future.”

Hahn is a self prescribed playmaker who measures in at 6’ 1” and 190 pounds and looks forward to the challenge of competing at the Junior A level.  “Playing at home for the Victoria Grizzlies while finishing Grade 12 and working toward an NCAA Scholarship is very exciting.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime to play at home and I am anxious for camp to get started.”

The Grizzlies open camp on Monday August 20 with over 70 players in camp.  The Grizzlies will play their first exhibition game Friday August 24 at the Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre against up Island rival Cowichan Capitals.
