Port Alberni, BC ~ The Alberni Valley Bulldogs scored three unanswered in the third period to beat the Victoria Grizzlies 5-3 at the Alberni Valley Multiplex in Port Alberni on Friday night.
Leading 3-2 going into the third period, the Grizzlies found themselves on the back foot for the entire final twenty minutes, being outshot 18-10. Wyatt Davis scored at 4:06 to tie the game at 3 before the Bulldogs got a late winner from Grady Magner at 18:19. They would add an empty-netter for good measure with 29 seconds left on the clock.
Victoria’s goals came from Maddux Martin (10th/11th) twice and Reece Gault (7th). Mikus Vecvanags made 34 saves on 38 shots in the Grizzlies crease.
Victoria is back in action tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at the Q Centre with the Chilliwack Chiefs in town.
