The Victoria Grizzlies and Shamrocks are pleased to announce the beginning of an exciting new partnership with Viking Group TM, a Victoria based Investment Group.

This new partnership sees the Q Center have all 26 of its staircases wrapped and branded as the Viking Group’s along with the renaming of the lower bowl “The Viking Bowl”.

“This is a great opportunity to support players working as a team towards a common goal,” said Ben Gulbrandsen, President of Viking Group.

Viking Group is a blend of two families: The Skadbergs and the Gulbrandsens who individually moved from Norway in the 1980’s and together started “Scan Homes’ in 1987. In 2003, they created Pacific Coast Land Company (now Pacific Viking Group Properties). It’s main subsidiary, Pacific Viking Properties (Capital Region Commercial Building Awards 2022 Construction Company of the Year) has a plethora of projects including; Pacific on Veterans (2013), Pacific Central (2015), Pacific Circle (2017), Thetis Lakeside (2019), Trilogy I (2021), Trilogy II (2022) and Trilogy III (2023).

Even with all of Viking’s success over the past 30 years, perhaps most important to Ben and the crew at Viking is building community and having a positive impact within the Westshore.

“The crowds in this building are incredible and to see people from the community so intensely focused on the hard work that players are putting into being on the floor and ice, that’s something we want to be a part of and to help celebrate these player’s success.”

“It is a community effort and we can all share in it as a team,” Ben would also add.

With the Shamrocks and Grizzlies playing out of the same building, they recently entered into a joint deal meaning that both parties are over the moon about the opportunity to work with an organisation like Viking.

Chris Welch, Governor and GM of the Victoria Shamrocks, when asked about the subject said, “Partnerships like these enable us to do what we do, and that is to put an exciting product on the floor for fans who pay good money to come and see us.”

“I think it is also a real upgrade for the Q Center, the stairs look fantastic and it’s just a nice overall upgrade for the arena,” he went on to say.

Sean Chewka, VP of Business for the Victoria Grizzlies, was quick to echo that by saying, “Without partners like Viking Group, we wouldn’t be able to service our community in the manner that we do. Their commitment to us and the residents of the Westshore is second to none.”

With the Shamrocks season just starting up and the Grizzlies reloading for their 2023-24 season, both sides could not be more excited about the next several seasons intertwined with Viking Group.
