Marty is enjoying his rookie season with the Grizzlies, one of four players on the team, also attending his grade 12 school year. The Saanich Minor hockey product has gone from being the Grizzlies (formally Salsa) stick boy as a young hockey fan to earning a spot as a regular after an impressive training camp this September.
Marty is known for his speed and great shot on the fly and as coach Didmon explains- “as he learns the ropes as a young player in the BCHL, he will become a elite offensive player in this league over time,” It is a family affair for the Westhaver’s, as Marty’s mother Mena is the Grizzlies skating coach and younger brother Jake is the team’s stick boy.
