Victoria, BC ~ The Victoria Grizzlies announced on Tuesday evening that they have acquired 2005 born defenseman; Braydan Smith in exchange for Alex Hebblethwaite.
“Braydan is an experienced veteran dman who adds size, experience and hockey sense to our blueline,” said Grizzlies Director of Player Personnel Geoff Grimwood, “Anytime you can add a veteran defenseman with this experience you’re going to make your team better. We’re excited to have him.”
Braydan spent last season in the USHL with Des Moines where he appeared in 47 games. Smith was in Trail with the Smoke Eaters during the 2022-23 season and comes to the Grizzlies with 48 games of BCHL experience as a 17 year old.
Smith is also committed to the University of Connecticut.
