GRIZZLIES FIRE FIRST BLOW IN HOME AND HOME SERIES

The Victoria Grizzlies fired the first shot Friday night, and claimed round one, in a two game home and home series with up-Island rival Nanaimo Clippers.
 
Jacob Kearkey, David Walchuk, Myles Fitzgerald and Garret Forster contributed to a 4-0 lead before the game was 45 minutes old.
 
Clippers Bo Brauer and Sheldon Rempal made the game 4-2, before Garret Forster chipped in his second of the night – am empty netter – to ice the win.
 
The BCHL's win percentage leader among goalies, Alec Dillon, made 42 saves for the Victoria squad.
 
With the win, the Grizzlies remain the BCHL's hottest team and solidified their position as the second best team in the BCHL. among the 16 team loop.
 
Dillon, a 17 year old local RPI committed player in the NCAA ranks, moved his save percentage to .921 with the win.
 
He also sports a 10-2-1 record on the year.
 
Saturday night, the two teams renew their rivalries at 7:15 at Bear Mountain Arena.
