Grizzlies Head to Mainland for Two Important Match Ups

Vancouver, BC ~ Victoria heads over to the Mainland for 2 key games against both Surrey and Langley amidst their push for playoff home ice advantage.

 

The Grizzlies will start their weekend on Friday evening from the South Surrey Arena against the Conference leading Surrey Eagles with puck drop at 7:00. Victoria is 1-2-0 against the Eagles this year, and lost their lone visitation to the Eagles nest during this campaign. That 4-2 loss feels far separated from now however as it was the BCHL season opener on September 22nd.

Victoria took down Surrey on February 24th 6-4 from the Q Center in Victoria, however they would lose the  following afternoon 10-3.

Charlie Gollob has two goals and an assist against the Eagles this year while Nathan King has a goal and four assists for five points in just three games against Surrey during the current season.

 

Victoria will then end their mini two night road trip in Langley from “The Lodge”.

The Rivermen stand in at 7th in the conference and 14 points behind Victoria with a lowly 17-27-5 record. Langley however has found their rhythm in the 2nd half of the year as they are 9-9-1 in their last 19 games since the Christmas break.

The Grizz are 4-0 vs the Riv this year and are looking for a second straight year with a perfect record in this match up. Victoria has not lost to Langley since being eliminated by them in the first round of the post season in 2022.
