Grizzlies Name Captains
Victoria, B.C. As all BCHL teams are preparing for the 2nd Annual BCHL Showcase taking place in Chilliwack this weekend. The Victoria Grizzlies Junior A Hockey Club officially announced its Captain and Assistant Captains for the 2013 – 2014 season.
Management opted to allow the leadership group to be selected by the players this season and have endorsed the selections unanimously.
Leading the team as its Captain is veteran forward Mark McLellan who returns for his third season in a Grizzlies uniform. McLellan is best described as a "heart and soul" player who leads by example on and off the ice.
GM and Head Coach Bill Bestwick commented, "Mark is a great choice! He returned in great shape, is an honest player and highly respected by his teammates and opponents."
Joining Mark as Assistant Captains are all veteran BCHL'ers. 20 year old Chris Albertini, a solid hard working Defenseman expected to bolster the young D corp will wear an "A"
As well brothers Gerry and Leo Fitzgerald have been chosen by their teammates to provide leadership and support to the forward players.
This is an exciting time for our new team and I am confident the appointed Captains will be responsible to their teammates, fans and supporters in the coming months
