Victoria, BC ~ After the weekend off for the All-Star Game in Penticton, Victoria prepares to make the trip to eastern British Columbia for stops in first Trail and than Merritt.

This will mark the 3rd and final Interior swing for the Grizzlies who have visited: Salmon Arm and Penticton while also travelling to Quesnel in late November for the BCHL Roadshow.

Victoria is 1-3-1 against Interior Conference teams this year, however hold a very strong record of 18-9-0 while playing against Coastal Conference opponents. That gives the Grizz a record of 19-12-1 which is good enough for 4th in the Coastal Conference while being one point back of holding 2nd place.

When asked about taking on teams that you see just once in a calendar year, Associate Coach and Director of Player Personnel, Geoff Grimwood said, “We don’t prepare different. We certainly don’t know those teams as well, so we try to focus on finding our own game as quickly as possible. I know we are all excited to especially visit Trail as that is a rink and team with great history and spectacular fans.”

Previous Meetings:

  • Victoria took the only meeting last season against Trail by a one sided scoreline of 7-2 on their annual Military Appreciation Night. Highlights can be seen here.
  • The Centennials took out Victoria 6-2 on October 25, 2023 for their last meeting. Merritt is the lone Interior Conference team that the Grizzlies see twice this season

Quick Numbers:

  • Victoria is 4-1-0 in their last 5 games
  • Luc Pelletier has 7 points and 5 goals in his last 5 games
  • Tobias Pitka found the back of the net twice in the BCHL Top Prospects game earning MVP honours
