Grizzlies Player Movement

The Victoria Grizzlies have made another roster change, sending nineteen year old Import forward Sage Englund to Carlton Place of the CCHL, for a Player Development Fee.

In his place the Grizzlies have acquired the rights to T.J. Friedmann, an 18 year old forward from St. Louis, Missouri. Friedmann started the season with The Green Bay Gamblers of the U.S.H.L, where he was a second round pick of the Gamblers in the 2016 draft.

Friedmann played his first Junior season as a sixteen year old for the Springfield Jr. Blues of the N.A.H.L in 2013-14. Last season he jumped to U18 hockey playing for the Victory Honda out of Detroit Michigan; which is where he first caught the eye of Grizzlies GM and Head Coach Craig Didmon.

The 6’3 right handed forward led his team in scoring with 20 goals and 33 points in 32 league games last season, while playing on a line with current Grizzlies’ player, Justin Michaelian.

“T.J is a good sized, skilled forward. He is only 18 so he has plenty of Junior hockey left, however, I do expect him to make an immediate impact to our hockey club. We recruited T.J heavily over last season and are very excited that he has eventually come our way,” expressed GM/Head Coach Craig Didmon.

The Grizzlies organization want to thank Sage Englund for his contributions to the Grizzlies on and off the ice and wish him the best of luck in the future.
