Indigenous Recognition Jersey Contest

We want you to design our next Indigenous Recognition Jersey!

Welcome to the Indigenous Jersey Design Contest hosted by The Victoria Grizzlies! We are excited to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities through the art of jersey design. This contest provides a platform for artists and designers to showcase their creativity while promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity in sports.

Contest Details:

  • Eligibility: The contest is open to artists who identify as members of Indigenous communities.
  • Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by July 15th, 2023
  • Submission Guidelines: Each design should be accompanied by a brief explanation of the artistic elements and the inspiration behind the design
  • How to Submit: Entries can be submitted via email to makenzie@victoriagrizzlies.com Please include the following details in the email:
    • Full Name
    • Contact Information (phone number and email address)
    • An image of your jersey design
    • Any design files in a high resolution format such as PDF and EPS
    • Design explanation
  • Prizes: The winning design will be worn by the Victoria Grizzlies during a our annual Indigenous Recognition Game in the 2023-24 season. In addition, the winner will receive a family 4 pack of 2023-24 season tickets, a family set of your jerseys, the opportunity to watch your design in action and the chance to drop the puck before the game.
  • Copyright and Ownership: By submitting their designs, participants grant The Victoria Grizzlies the rights to use the winning design for promotional purposes, including jerseys, merchandise, and marketing materials for the game.

 

Important Note:
The Victoria Grizzlies organization respects and acknowledges the Songhees Nation, Esquimalt Nation, and Scia’new (Beecher Bay First Nation) on whose traditional territories we gather to live, work, and play on.
