The Victoria Grizzlies’ new captain wasted little time in getting up to speed in his first preseason action of the BCHL season.
Ellis Rickwood notched a hat-trick to lead the Grizzlies to an 8-5 victory over the Cowichan Valley Capitals on Friday night in Duncan. Linemate Matthew Wood added a goal and two assists as the Grizzlies picked up their first win of the exhibition season. Clark Hiebrt, Andrew Amousse, Kalen Szeto and Tyler Waram also scored for Victoria, while Carter Woodside went the distance in goal.
The same two teams will do it all again tonight at The Q Centre.
