Chilliwack, BC ~ The Chilliwack Chiefs used three playoff goals on Friday night to end the Victoria Grizzlies season and punch their ticket to the 2025 Fred Page Cup Final.

The Chiefs had an ideal start to the game going up 2-0 early after getting some help with four power plays just after the half way point of the first. Those goals came from Brady Milburn (9) and Connor Dick (5) both of which on the power play.

Victoria battles backed to tie the game up heading in to the first intermission after first finding a goal from Reegan Hiscock (9) cutting into the zone after a nice feed from Malcolm Green. It would then be Tobias Pitka (8) on the power play locking the game up heading into the first intermission.

Victoria got their first lead at 8:53 of the second thanks to Chase Pirtle’s splendid cross ice pass putting Reegan Hiscock (10) in a prime scoring area that he wouldn’t miss from.

Six minutes later Victoria forward Tobias Pitka would retaliated to an Chiefs player (Arjun Bawa) cross checking him multiple times going up ice by throwing his own cross check. This one was deemed a major penalty and would promptly end his night.

Chilliwack took full advantage by pulling even off the stick of Connor Arsenault (3) on that extended man advantage sending the game to the third period with a 3-3 tie and Chilliwack having had seven power plays.

The Chiefs would keep their foot on the pedal and would take the lead at 1:18 thanks to Mateo Mrsic (3). They made it a two goal lead just over seven minutes later when Dwayne Jean Jr. (4) banged home a rebound in the crease.

Victoria would not go away and made it interesting at 11:29 with Tom Molson (11) wiring a puck top shelf short side but sadly Victoria would not come any closer, with their further pushes to a tying goal being thwarted.

With a 5-4 win the Chilliwack Chiefs punched their ticket to the Fred Page Cup and ended the Grizzlies 2025 Playoff Push. The Penticton Vees found themselves a win on home ice on Friday night forcing a game six in Brooks on Monday night. The winner of that series will be Chilliwack’s enemy in the BCHL Final.
